So long, Ernest T.

Up and at 'em Atom Ant!

Rain, rain...

Go away. Man, this weather is quite sucking and it's affecting my mood. Don't feel like doing anything. Just don't feel right or myself. Ugh. The latest forecasts say there is no relief in site for this week.

Riddle me this

On the eve of the latest Star Wars film, Frank Gorshin, who played the Riddler, dies. Coincidence?

.

Yah, probably.

You're chafing my eyebrows!

Star Wars mania begins this week. Will Anakin turn into Dark Helmet? Will Queen Padme still look nice in her Tatooine gown? Will Chewie eat Jar-Jar Binks?
Hope, one can.

Not a finga!

Finger food

By the way, the tea did not make me feel like I was in a mountain meadow barefoot. It made me sleepy. Should have known not to listen to a Starbucks owned brand.

Tea time

I just made myself a cup of tea in our cafe. There are several selections from Tazo to choose from and the one I'm trying is called Calm. It's chamomile. No big whoop. I noticed the following claim on the back of the tea bag packet:

A single cup of Tazo Calm has been known to have the same effect as sitting for 45 minutes in a mountain meadow on a sunny day with your shoes off.

Are you kidding me? Sign me up for that! Let's see if it does what it claims.

Vavo's house

I ran my Tuesday 5K run last night and finished in 26:54. I finally broke 27 minutes! Afterward, I met my Dad at my grandmother's house to have a look at the place. A lot of stuff had already been cleaned out or taken by my uncles and cousins, but a good amount is still in place. It felt nice being there. It still felt like she was going to come around the corner from the kitchen and offer a plate of cookies, peanuts, or her famous lady finger cake. Something she always did whenever company came over.

My cousin and two of my uncles came by while we were there and we went through some stuff, like old records, and figure out who in the family would like what. My cousin was telling me that she'd like to go back to the old country this year or at some point before my grandmother's house is sold. I'd be up for that!

poopy

Sorry, haven't been in the mood to blog lately. Been having the blahs since Friday. Could be weather related. (It's been raining off and on since Friday. The sun finally came out today) Or I could just be poopy because it was the first Mother's Day since my grandmother passed away. Don't get me wrong, it was a nice day spending it with my wife and kids and visiting my parents and the in-laws, but I think it was the back of my mind. Worrying how my Dad and my uncles would be feeling on Sunday.

My Dad and uncles have been going to her house off and on since then cleaning out her house, figuring out what needs to be done. One of my uncles, who lives upstairs from her, is buying the house and my cousin is going to move in downstairs with her husband. I'm going to go by her house later after my run to see the place one more time before they do any renovations to it. I think I just need to go there while some of her stuff is still in place.

score!

My buddy found the link...

How about a nice tall glass of shut the f*ck up?

I need to find that bitmap. Seems that it's F*ck Off Friday over here and everyone is in a gabbing mood. Headphones aren't really muffling out the sound either. ugh.

The answer is...

Yesterday was 'predict your time' night on the weekly 5K series, or rather officially the Carnac the Magnificent 5K Prediction Run. This meant no watches or clocks along the course. I was trying to figure out what I should put down for a time and thanks to my lovely wife, I went with 26:53. I finished the race with a time of 27:02. Woot! Not too shabby. I'm usually off by a minute at least when I try to figure out how I would finish. This is the closest differential so far.

The top ten closest to their predicted time won a prize. I didn't come close to it because people were within two to three seconds of the times. Plus, for some reason, my predicted time didn't get registered. :-( Oh, well. It must have gotten lost in the shuffle. Debating whether to send an email to the race director just to say. Well, as John Bingham would say, Waddle on, friends.
