Are you ready for some wiffle ball?

Ah, the eve of yet another television-advertising, steroid-induced, baseball season. Will Dice-K's gyros be delicious? Will Barry Bonds surpass Hank Aaron's home-run records, albeit illegally? Will A-Rod and Derek Jeter kiss and make up before the Bronks Bombers self-implode? Will Jeremy Remy finally run for office? Only time and several million hot dogs will tell.

I'm not looking forward to the possibility that Mr. Bonds will be in Fenway Park for a weekend series with the Sox and there being a chance that he'll be close to the home run record. I don't think anyone is rooting for the guy to reach the milestone because of all the suspected drug use. This baseball fan is certainly not.

Here's hoping for a 2007 World Series trophy for the Red Sox!

Harry Update

Book covers have been released...

From Mugglenet.com:

Deathly Hallows' cover art released!
Scholastic and Bloomsbury today both revealed the covers for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows!

- United States Children's Edition - view here
- United Kingdom Children's Edition - view here
- United Kingdom Adult Edition - view here

You can also view a high-res version of the entire US jacket HERE.

Bloomsbury also announced today that the UK edition will be 608 pages long. As previously announced, the US version of the book will have 784 pages, making it longer than GOF. However, the UK page count makes DH shorter than the British GOF (which is 636 pages long). We presume this is due to an increased font size for the US version.

Help spread the word by digging this story on Digg.com, a social-bookmarking site.

UPDATE: Arthur Levine, the US Potter editor, spoke this morning on the TODAY show about the American cover:

"We're seeing Harry in a very interesting situation. Readers will find out exactly what the situation is.

"When I was reading it, I had both the excitement and the power of the book, and the plot, driving me forward. But I was also feeling a little sad. It's the last time."

When Levine admitted he "sobbed and sobbed" while reading Deathly Hallows, he was asked the following:

"That means someone we like dies, doesn't it?"

"Well, it means it is a very, very emotional book," he responded.

Happy Spring Whatever.

Yesterday, Dunkin Donuts had free small iced coffee all day to celebrate spring. Fred would be proud.

That's all I got for now. Haven't had too much time to write. Stay tuned for more.

Mr. Humphries, are you free?

I'm very sad at hearing this news today as "Are You Being Served?" is one of my favorite British comedies.

So long, Mr. Inman. May you always sell plenty of men's ware and your trousers ride up with wear.

Paula Abdul looks stoned.

OK, my predicition for this year's Idol winner... Melinda Doolittle.
If the public does vote off Antonella Barbarella tonight, I'm going to boycott the show.
