The Oprah vs. Letter Man

For the first time, David Letterman will appear on The Oprah Show to continue their decade-long feud. The billing was just announced today and the latest Vegas odds-makers have it as even. Oh, they say they've buried the hatchet (Oprah appearing on Letterman; both appearing in a Super Bowl commercial), but we shall see next month.

So, Barry "Steroids" Bonds surpassed Hank Aaron's home run record last night... and on my wife's birthday no less. I'm not too gung ho about it since all the alleged steroid usage around him. I'm not surprised that it was done in San Fran. I don't think he would have gotten a better reception anywhere else. I saw the highlights this morning and all the hoopla afterward. I must say I was impressed, surprisingly, of his humility when thanking the fans and when he broke down thanking his late Dad, Bobby Bonds.

Sports galore

What a day to be a Boston sports fan. The Celtics picked up Kevin Garnett in a trade for... basically everybody. The Red Sox shored up their bullpen by picking up Eric Gagne. Now, if the Bruins can get their act together, we'll have a full sweep of the big four sports.
