This streak goes to eleven, do I hear twelve?

Red Sox-Mets... Schilling vs. Glavine... It's a pitcher's duel. Can our beloved Red Sox make it twelve-in-a-row. Let's hope so!!

I scored in the gas war this morning.

I was pleasantly surprised to find a gas station on the way to work that was selling regular unleaded for $2.75 a gallon. Don't know why it was about 10 cents 'cheaper' than the lowest prices at other gas stations. Plus it was an Exxon station to boot. Hopefully, it's a sign of lower prices to come.

Ugh, I just got a pop-up message saying that Brazil won its match against Ghana, 3 - 0. Would somebody please beat this guys?

Portugal vs. The Netherworld

Tomorrow at 3:00pm EDT. I hope to get a chance to watch the game. My wife and I are running a bake sale fundraiser all day for a retreat we're in charge of in the fall. Hopefully, there will be a television around with ESPN on. :-)

I watched most of the Mexico-Argentine game today and it was a good match. Too bad for Mexico technically scoring the first two goals. One for them and one for Argentina. If it wasn't for that, it wouldn't have gone into extra time.

Where's Cookie Monster?

Why am I find these weird stories on the internets?

Check out what the theme was for this 3-year-old's birthday party.

And now it's time for Name That Tune...

very sad

So much for the U.S. advancing. Today's score Ghana - 2 U.S - 1 thereby eliminating the team from the competition. Go Portugal!

Stanley Cup update

Unless Edmonton pulls another comeback, down 2-0 at the end of the 2nd period, it looks like the Whalers are going to enjoy their first championship.

Fluffy

I heard this story on the way home from work today...

State Senator Wants Fluff Off School Menus

It's nice that one of our state senators are worried about a menu item in school. Nevermind the homeless, violence and crime, and other not so important stuff that he should be worried about. If you don't want your kid to eat fluffernutters, don't make it for them. I'm sure it's not as fattening or bad as other crap that's out there.

Portugal, yeah! U.S. - wtf!

I didn't get to see any of the World Cup games thus far, but have been trying to keep up with the scores. Portugal beat out Angola 1-0 yesterday. Today, I couldn't bear watching the score updates as the U.S. got their butts handed to them 3-0 by the Czechs. Ouch.

Well, that's about what I have for now. Talk amongst yourselves.

Ole, ole, ole, ol-o!

The World Cup has started and David Hasselhoff must be proud as the Germans beat Costa Rica 4-2 in the opening game.

Just in time for the November elections

Excuse me for being cynical about this. I just heard that an airstrike in Iraq allegedly killed al-Zarqawi. Let's see if President Bush's approval rating goes up if at all. Oh, and check out your local gas prices in the next week or so. Will this little 'victory' cause the prices to plummet a bit? I doubt it.

Who invented this phrase?

"To be honest with you"

You strike up a conversation with someone or listen to an interview and half way into the conversation, it comes up...

Person A: "Oh, and therefore I believe that man and llamas can co-exist in relative harmony".

Person B: "Yes, but what about the unicorns?"

Person A: "To be honest with you, I haven't factored in the unicorns... blah blah blah."

So up to that point in the conversation you weren't completely honest with the other person? Were thou not telling the truth and simply winging it? Maybe it's just me but that saying just does sound right. I've probably said it a few times myself so I shouldn't squawk.

In keeping with the 80's theme...

Anyone remember these two songs from Haircut 100? Sweet...

Boy Meets Girl

Doug-ie!

Last night, I went to the Lowell Auditorium to see Kevin James stand-up show. My brother-in-law had an extra ticket and asked if I wanted to go. Thanks, Bro! Great show! James is one funny dude. His warm-up act was funny too although sometimes I couldn't understand what he was saying because he was talking so fast. I forget his name. Richie something-or-other.

If you have a chance to see Kevin James live, I'd recommend it. Oh, and apparently he's working on a new movie with Adam Sandler. That should be funny.
